Very Short Interview, Part 2

When I first interviewed my entrepreneur the first time I asked very simple questions. My questions were:
1.     What should my expectations be in this course?
2.     What does it mean to be an entrepreneur?
3.     What do you think I should learn in this entrepreneurship course?
Although I learned a lot in this interview, I feel like my questions focused more on me than on him. Therefore for my second interview I decided to ask more questions about his experience. Below is the transcript of my interview:

1.     What have you learned is the key to growing your business?
I learned that in order to be successful in growing your business, you must always hustle. There is never a time to slow down. It is also important that you surround yourself with employees who have the same mentality as you.
2.     What makes you passionate about your business?
I am extremely passionate about helping companies communicate on social media. Since social media is such a huge part of society today, I think it is so important that all companies are utilizing it effectively.
3.     What advice would you give young entrepreneurs?
I think you need to find something you are passionate about and don’t give up even if you fail a couple of times. If you are passionate about something enough, you will find a way to be successful.

After reflecting on both my first and second interview, I could tell that I have made progress from this class. My second interview went much more smoothly and I was able to get into a deeper conversation. I think he was impressed by the questions I was asking and the fact that I was genuinely interested.

  1. Gabie, your interview is spot on with the requirements to become a successful entrepreneur. There is a definitely an important component of "hustle" in running an successful business. Surfing yourself with quality employees is key as well. Your passion for social media will be very helpful in the modern society. Especially with such a heavy reliance on social media that the youth possesses. 2. Great job, Gabie. I think that you learned a lot from this experience. I agree that our original questions were very basic and straight forward. I am glad that this second time around that you asked more specific and open ended questions. I did the same thing. I really wanted to get the most our of this opportunity, so I asked questions that I thought would really help me in the future. Speaking with someone who has actually done this stuff before is so beneficial and valuable. We are very lucky to have been given this experience. Thank you for sharing! I think that you did a great job!
