Existing Market
Step 1:
The next expansion for my business would be for the app to
stop more driving distractions than just texting and driving. The new expansion
would prohibit the vehicle from moving if the driver was too intoxicated.

Step 3:
The customers that I interviewed gave me great feedback on
my product expansions. They assured me that it was a good idea and told me that
they would use my product. They believe it will be beneficial to them and help
them stop temptations.
In the future, I plan to expand my product to drinking and
driving in addition to texting and driving.
New Market:
Step 1:
My target market is millenials considering they are the ones
who are texting and driving most. My new market is parents since they will want
a way to stop their children from texting and driving.
Step 2:
I think that my product will create tremendous value because
it will stop many accidents from occurring and it will provide a way for
parents to limit and control their children.

Step 4:
I was able to learn a great deal from this market. After
interviewing customers, they assured me that they would buy this app and it
would be a great benefit to them. I was very excited to hear this news and that
my product can potentially make a difference.
I was not surprised that everyone said that they would use
my app. I was surprised that nobody gave me any recommendations on how this app
can improve. I feel that once the app is developed. There will be many areas
for improvement.
Gabie, this is a great expansion idea that you have came up with. The same people that will be interested in buying something to prevent texting and driving, will surely be intrigued by a device that prevents drinking and driving. Through this alone, you will be able to potentially double your sales by adding another product, which is just as, if not more, appealing to customer markets. You are definitely on to something, check out what's next for me; http://scottysscene.blogspot.com/2016/04/whats-next.html
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI was not able to access your videos since the URL is for access from the owner end instead of a public end.
As for your new idea I think it could work to have an app that doesn't let the car drive, although I'm sure it would be very tough to get that together since you would probably need to work with cell-phone manufacturers, phone manufacturers, and everyone else involved with such a big project. Though if you were successful it would be great! Your second market is perfect! Check out my blog here: http://blovejoyblog.blogspot.com/2016/04/whats-next.html
I would be very interested in finding out how this app would work and how you would sort of force users to be able to let the app know how much they drank. I love the concept, but I think it'll be a little difficult in production as far as how to get it to work. Regardless, I think this is a great idea to shoot for!
ReplyDeleteGabie, this is a really interesting idea, how does it work in practice? I like your idea for expansion because drunk driving is as great a danger as texting and driving. This means an app that can put a stop to both of these things would be very valuable. I also thought it was very clever how you targeted a different market. Parents are definitely interested in the safety of their children while driving and would definitely download this app.
ReplyDeleteHey Gabe,
ReplyDeleteWay to incorporate two different markets with your business venture. They are complimentary markets and you can seriously make a killing. Now the biggest issue is actually making the app work which may be slightly difficult, but with persistence achievable. You will be helping to prevent tragic situations. http://ent3003brandonsanchez.blogspot.com/2016/04/whats-next.html
