The unmet need/opportunity that I chose to identity was the
long lines at Chipotle and how customers feel about it. Through my interviews
with customers, I found that customers have encountered this problem, but they
stay loyal due to their love for the food. Below are the list of questions that
I asked each customer.
1.
How
often do you eat at chipotle?
2.
Do
you ever have to wait in long lines?
3.
What
is the longest you have ever waited?
4.
Did
chipotle ever compensate for the inconvenience? If so how?
5.
Has
this ever stopped you from wanting to eat there?
6.
If
no, what would be your breaking point?
7.
How
do you think this problem can be solved?
Overall, I think that the interview
process was a bit uncomfortable at first. I was very nervous interacting with
people that I didn’t know and asking them questions. Even though I felt a bit
nervous, I feel like the interview was very helpful in recognizing the unmet
needs and the solutions that are necessary.
I think that this is a great problem that is not yet resolved and could be very beneficial to customers as well as Chipotle workers and owners as it will make the workers' jobs easier while also not loosing the restaurant money. However, I think you should have more "What if..." questions to think of a solution yourself and see how customers would have responded. Besides that, I think the interviews were great! After reading your proposed idea and evaluating the responses it is apparent that your problem is a substantial one. I agree with the idea that Chipotle should try to compensate for the long lines and attempt to make its customers happier. I thought you had good interview questions as well and were able to clearly communicate the problem at hand. It also has relevance to the student body considering the amount of people that eat there.
