After my interviews last week, I was able to narrow down my
opportunity of customers not utilizing the online ordering feature at chipotle.
I found that this opportunity is the root of the long lines.
Last time, I did not pre screen the customers whether they
ate at Chipotle often. This time I made sure to select customers that eat at
Chipotle often. Since they ate at Chipotle often, they were more equipped to
answer my questions.
I adjusted my questions to ask specifically about the online
ordering feature. Below are the questions I asked.
1.
Have you ever used the online ordering feature
at Chipotle?
2.
If yes, What has your experience been with it?
3.
If no, why not?
4.
Does the feature save you a lot of time?
5.
Do you think it is helpful?
6.
Would you recommend it to other customers? If so
why?
7.
Is there anything you would change about the
feature?
After interviewing all of the customers, I found that all of
Chipotle’s customers are not utilizing the online ordering feature enough.
Therefore, that is the root of why the line is always very long. If more
customers utilized the feature more, there would always be a shorter wait time.
Three tips for interviewing customers would be be prepared
with your questions, make sure you have the right audience, and take it
seriously.

Nice job with your interviews! I love that you are in the shot with your interviewees. It seems so much less awkward, probably for both you and them. I might try doing that next round! I love your idea (i also love Chipotle) and I think it is a real problem, especially here in Gainesville. But I must ask, how do you plan to get people to start utilizing the online ordering feature? Maybe that could be your next round of interviews.
ReplyDeleteOverall great job!

Hey Gabie,
ReplyDeleteVery good job with your questions! Although i am not able to view the videos for some reason, it may just be my computer i can say that from your description your idea is definitely something interesting because, honestly, who doesnt love chipotle? I also really like how you revised your questions taking in what you think you should've changed from the first round of interviews, that really shows that you are paying attention to innovation and making things better! :) If you'd like to check out my interviews, here is the link: http://ent3003img.blogspot.com
